Morning all,

It’s been a wet few weeks in London, but today, the newsletter was published in Doha's warmth, and those who know me know that I am happy just whenever I’m warm. Wherever I go, the water bottle comes too!

There has been a lot of new content on the platform in the last two weeks. We’ve examined UBS, Peloton, and Apple’s massive $100 billion buyback, the convertibles' ins and outs, and how to capture their impact in a valuation effectively.

Of course, there is some new tech. We’ve started using our new expressive avatars - I mean, this technology is off the charts amazing - you’ll see an example below. I’ve also been a guest on “The Financial Modelers Corner” hosted by Paul Barhurst - this is a top 2% podcast on various platforms. We have the full episode below.

Shoot for the Stars: Why not? They are there!

Empowering learners with the world's most targeted and analyst-driven self-assessment platform.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I’m involved in a massive project to create what I hope is the best learning engine on the market. So far, I’ve curated over 2,000 questions for a self-assessment learning engine that tests the knowledge on the platform.

This is no regurgitation of standard training company CFA question banks—good for exams but not so useful for life at the desk! I want you prepped to excel at the desk and uncover insights others miss. I want you better!

The first phase of the release is now live. A sample assessment is available for all. Full access to the learning engine requires a Premium Plus subscription. We put live the first valuation self-assessment, “RU a Valuation Rockstar.” The assessment generates a 30-question self-assessment, pulling a personalized question set derived from our underlying question bank population.

  • You’re on the clock.

  • Each question gets instantly marked, together with

  • Immediate feedback from me.

  • Full answer analysis and review are provided at the end of the assessment

  • Take the test again and again. Each time, we will generate a unique self-assessment for you.

Go to the “Learning Hub” on the app (Click the “hat” icon at the bottom menu), and you’ll see the “InsightOne Assessment Sampler.”

New App functionality:
What is an expressive Avatar?

This is a massive one for us. We adopted a new tech upgrade for our AI avatars. With our new avatars, they can learn facial expressions and body movements in relation to the spoken content and the general sentiment behind it. Our avatars can then predict how they should emote and move based on any new script changes and their corresponding generated audio.

Our expressive avatars are more natural, with a wider range of movement and the ability to express better sentiment based on the script's context, allowing for more immersion in your video projects.

Geoff on “The Financial Modeler’s Corner” with Paul Barnhurst

This podcast with Paul went live a few days ago. Paul Barnhurst hosts it and invites people to wax lyrical about financial modeling. I got the offer and, of course, grabbed it with both hands! Paul was an excellent host and put together a brilliantly edited podcast! I hope you can find time to listen to it—click below, and you’re on!

As a deeper collaboration, we are hosting the Full “Financial Modeler’s Corner Product” on the InsightOne App. Click below to access or search “The Financial Modeler’s Corner” on the App.

New content: Unknotting the complication of convertible debt.

I’ve been meaning to put this effort together for a while. How should we deal with convertible debt in a fundamental valuation context? We look at the accounting, the product’s behavior, and how to capture the impact of this instrument within fundamental valuation frameworks.

Coming down the pipe in the next few weeks:

  • Analyzing reinvestment and the impact on returns

  • Are the markets efficient? Adaptive markets

  • How do strategic tools help investment analysts

  • The engine of LBO models: How to build sources and uses of funds statement

Just click on the images below to be linked to the programs. While we have something like 250+ digital assets available for free on the platform, we are getting close to 2,000. So, if you haven’t got access, sign up for the Premium Plus membership and grab the 14-day free trial.

Highlights from the back catalog

Now that we’ve built a pretty extensive portfolio of digital assets, we can explore the vault and highlight a few programs you might have missed.

Learn something new now. Excel’s new Checkboxes!

I don’t know if you’ve seen the new Checkbox function in Excel. It's so much easier and more adaptable than what we had before. It's excellent for adding multiple scenarios to your models and turning that model from a static calculator to something more like a model! Watch the video below—you’ll find it a very useful skill in your Excel arsenal!

I’m currently putting together a library of what will probably end up being 300+ Excel Shorts videos. I’ll drip-feed these videos onto our social media platforms and host them on the InsightOne App (as part of the free access).

Find your favorites! A New Home

Along with the App UX redesign, we’ve all moved the “Favourite” functionality into one place. You can still “favorite” any program you like, but the “Favourite” playlist now resides in “My Learning Hub.”

Click on the “heart” icon, and your favorite programs will be added to the playlist.
